We asked for ideas for ways to celebrate our 70th anniversary next year and boy did we get a beauty from Julian Bosworth.
As the main concern expressed about UK national events is that they are too far away, Julian has come up with an idea for an event that actually comes to you. A Round Britain Relay. But before we go ahead we need to know if there is enough commitment and enthusiasm out there to get at least one Y Type to take on each of the 37 legs. What a good idea this is. Could I suggest that if there are enough cars available that each stage has 2 Y's so that there is built-in cover for last minute problems or mechanical issues (given that all cars are at least 65 years old,

Certainly a great idea.

I had considered doing something like this for our 70th Anniversary Weekend in Australia but with vast areas with no known Y-Types, it is just impossible.

Thank you John we missed that one. It has been updated now, always a sad task. Jerry has been in contact with Molly who is fine but can't bring herself to parting with the MGs
Hope you will get your Y back on the road in time for the Relay. Legs are filling up well, a bit short down in Devon and Cornwall though, anyone down there please contact Maggie.
