I like the angle of the photo which makes the car look bigger....as for avrerage rear leg room....well average if you are five feet tall....

Ah, after some headscratching I discovered that IOW means Isle of Wight. The question is now, are there so many weddings on IOW that this firm can exist on it?

This is an agency offering the cars, which are all privately owned and the wedding hire is not really a commercial operation, just a way of getting a small contribution to the running costs of the cars.

I know the Y Type and its owner - Dave Willo. He only does a few weddings each year. He takes the car to most of the local shows. He has owned it for many years and toured all over the place, including Europe. Although in good condition, it shows signs of its age with patina.

I agree that the rear legroom, and ease of access to the rear is limited and Ys are not really suited to wedding use. Nonetheless, my own YB is booked as wedding transport for my own daughter when she marries in April next year, coincidentally on her parents own wedding anniversary. She knows it will be tight - I might have to leave the front passenger seat in the garage. I know that it is customary for a bride to arrive with her father, but he does not usually drive the car!

My earlier YB (UMG 780 where are you?) provided transport for my sister when she married in 1971(ish). She is now divorced, so I hope that being carried to your wedding in a Y is not the kiss of death for the marriage.

Hi Mike et al

Using a Y at a wedding is no kiss of death for sure - one look at Ys at Weddings will confirm that, so dont forget to send me photos of both events if you have them please.

We used our Y for my son's wedding and there's a new addition to the family due in December. I'm not saying it was all because of the car but.....

The couple that married in my Y (see Y's at Weddings) proved to be fertile, too....

There is a marketable theme here, Peter and Willem!
