My comment on an unfinished yellow 2 door roofless YA? It deserves a place in the "Special Y section" on the Y-registers website.....
Willem van der Veer

Pretty good looking isnt it!

It would be great to get in touch with the buyer and / or seller!

Current bid is 2,500 pounds - is this an April fool joke???

Its listed under the title MG Yellow ????

Mad or what....
David Mullen

Dont think so David - actually I like it! It has been very tastefully done and apes some of the special Swiss designs in many ways.

Point taken ..but yellow. Oh well 'eye of the beholder' and all that.
David Mullen

I'm not sure it's actually quite as yellow as the Ebay title suggests. To me it looks very similar to Sequoia Cream.
Andrew Adamson

I ought not to like it but I do, a Y Type roadster. It looks great, better than a YT, and the colour suits it, yellow or not. I'll be interested to see where it came from and who did the work; yellow leather seatbacks!
I guess it will go a long way beyond the current bids; the most recent wrecks went for £800-1000 and a radiator grill for £100, not to mention the incomplete and rusty XPAW that fetched £450+.

I was recently at a home and the owner informed me after noticing some pictures on his wall that he has a Y type MG.

It is a convertable 4 seater.

What would a car like that sell for today?

Thanks

Depends on many factors such as condition etc. If you want to email me with some photos and details of things like chassis number/car number (see guarantee plate on side of battery box) then I may be able to give you a better idea.

having just purchased "unseen" the yellow MG Y on e-bay I'll be looking for advice.
on delivery it will go to a local garage, owned by an MG enthusiast for the MOT and brake repair then a couple of months of ownership and advice from technical experts on this site will help us decide which mods to make.
give us some time and then lok for us at UK meetings.
md buckley

Good job and congratulations to Michael Buckley on buying the car, and I am really looking forward, as will be the rest of the Y World to finding out more of this super conversion job in due course on www.mgytypes.org. If you can get it before next weekend I am sure you will be very welcome to come on the UK Spring Run, just call Jerry Birkbeck on 01926 424053. Even if you cannot get there with the car, which will be a shame, try to get to the event and meet other UK fanatYcs!

Paul,
That's not fair! Next week, for the first time, there are three type categories in the Spring Run Pride of Ownership; because a YT has always won the 'Car I'd most like to take home' competition. If Mike takes the Yellow Y Roadster none of us will stand a chance. I think it should go to the committee!
Just joking, I'd love to see it there.

Peter - I think you are safe ... this year. Michael probably might not make it this year (I hope he does), but next year ...
