MG MG Y Type - MG Ytype front wing shape

Hello All,
Recently got my front wings back after quite major surgery and the line across the front lower edge seems very straight . As i remember it there is a gentle concave curve across the front lower edge which extends up the front face of the wing .
Now is that my memory playing tricks?
If I am correct and this curve should exist can someone please put a straight edge on the front of their wing and give me some idea of how deep the curve goes in and how far it extends up the face of the wing .
Photos without the bumper in place would be a help too if that is not pushing my luck ?
Any help is much appreciated as always.
Many thanks

Hi John,
just a quick pic for starters.

I can drop bumper off, the domed nuts are half undone now, so the bumper is actually drooping a bit as is. It is a TD bumper, not a YT.

Can you look at this and tell me if you want more as it does seem to be straight across for most of its width. There is a flattish zone behind the bumper.

(I can do more, but give me a days or two. I'd drop the bumper, get rid of the reflections (or try to) and add a straight edge or some sort of reference. And maybe it has been "restored" too anyway. Both sides look the same.)

cheers KGM

Thank you Keith (is that right )

Mine weren't like that before all the welding . Strangely the drivers side showed damage to that area but the curve seemed so perfectly formed as to be factory done .So when i bent the passenger side some years ago I matched it to the drivers side . Looks like it was wrong all along ? and it wasnt an unpleasant bit of shaping !
Thanks a lot John B

Hi John, here are some pics of the front wings from my YT that clearly show the curve to the front lower edge. Hope this helps. Regards, Ewan

H John, ... and here are some pics of a spare wing that also show the curve to the front lower section. Regards, Ewan

Hang on Ewan - a sneaky hoist and an even sneakier forklift ... my, that's some setup you've got there! Goodonyer. John.

Thanks a lot Ewan . Now that is how i remember mine being before they were 'done'
This should be fun the steel is very rigid after all its beatings over the years .
Thanks again John B

Hi John ,
the curve you can see is principally in the vertical plane. The actual lower edge of the wing on my YT is fairly straight for about three quarters of its width, trending forward a bit, before rolling back towards the wheel. The wing then bulges forward somewhat as you rise up from the lower edge. I am trying to send some pics to you, hopefully.

Your memory is not playing tricks John, not as far as my car (YB) is concerned anyway. Here are two views of the nearside wing. The ruler is not easy to see and the reflection doesn't help but there is a good 1/2 in. curve at the centre. If you need an accurate measurement just ask.
