MG MG Y Type - Monte Help: Wintrer Tyres
UMG's tyres are pretty old now. I need to change them for winter and / or snow tyres. I will try Longstone et al but does anyone have experience of winter / snow tyres? Which brands? Thanks. |

See if you can get studs added into any tire you pick Marc. Paul |

I have found some snow tyres - Camac Alplus but they ae165/15 rather than 155/15. Has anyone tried tyre that size on a YB? Thanks |

The circumfence of the 165 shouldn't be a problem; the original biasply tyres are higher than radial tyres. The only thing to look for is that the new tyre isn't too wide for the rim. Longstone tyres or Vintage tyres should be able to answer that question. |

Vintage Tyres tipped me off to Veredstein Snow tyres in the right size. They did not have any but I have managed to track some down on the web. Hopefully they will arrive in time! Also ordered some Camacs which will definitely come in time , just in case! |

The supplier of the Veredsteins let me down so I have now fitted the oversize Camacs. Clearance seems OK so we will see how we get on! |
