Yet another British Classic taken from us. :( |
Steve Simmons |
You never had it to start with. It appears from the add the the car is still in CA. so all you have to do is buy it. From the pictures the car looks to be in reasonable shape, the pictures are not very comprehensive, but the only thing I can spot is the TD air cleaner, aside from the signaling system which you can't escape. I don't mean taken from me personally, I mean another classic taken from California and shipped to England. They are literally shipping them in boatloads. British cars are becomming increasingly rare around here not because of age but because of export. I can't blame anyone for wanting a California car. They really are the best if you don't like rust. Unfortunately for California enthusiasts it seems a profit can be made by taking these cars and selling them in England. Notice that the car is listed on the UK eBay site and that shipping is included in the winning bid amount. It's already slated for shipping and has a spot on the boat. That particular car seems overpriced, but if that's what it will sell for in England then it's obvious why it's headed there! |

Just realized I was converting the currency the wrong way. It isn't overpriced. :) |

Note the registration number on the vehicle is from West Australia!!! Who is taking the car from who??? |
Ian Fry |
That what I was trying to point out.As Chip Old pointed out some time back on the T-ABC list we try to be succinct with emails and that often leads to a misunderstanding. Terry |

A TECALEMIT PLASTIGUN grease gun is currently on auction on E-Bay Australia. This is the same as supplied with original toolkits for YA's and TC's. Under cars bikes & boats>collector parts & manuals>british. |
Bill Winchester |
Bill's gun is very reasonably priced at 10.00 AUD / £4.29 currently and can be located at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2442295792&category=32071. There is also another one at $39.00 / £23.38 which closes about 5 hours before Bill's at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=42606&item=2442229162. Thanks for the plug for the site in your preamble though Bill. Did you have / do you still have a Y? Thanks Paul |

Certainly looks like a WA plate but I have no recollection of the car so it must of left the West a long time ago. Definitely way over priced. |
Richard Prior |
Perhaps, but someone bought it for the asking price! |

Richard, the Chassis # of this YT is 2813 and was owned by Jack Webb of Albany at one time and before him, John Goff (ex-President of MGCCWA?) |
