MG MG Y Type - Movie Stars

Does anyone remember the name of a film where John Mills(?) was driving around in a Y saloon ?.
Not often that Y's are seen in films but a YT is used as a staff car for Jack Hawkins at the end of "The Malta Story" with Alec Guiness. (One for trivia buffs as the movie is set during wartime - YT's released 1948!)

Hello Bob,
I can remember the film, but I don't know the title, I'm sure John Mills played a detective and his daughter Haley Mills was also in it, and I think the car was maroon.

Bob, if you search for mills,hayley movie career, you will find a list of all the films she made, the first film listed is TIGER BAY (1959)the cast list shows John Mills playing Superintendent Graham (a policeman has i thought) If this is the film? it is available from amazon.com

I agree, not many Y's in the movies .. but as a born and brought up Welshman from Cardiff (home of Tiger Bay) I never saw a Y type there till I thought of buying one some 5/6 years ago!

The things they get away with in the cinema ...

By the way Malcom, rumour has it that your Y restoration may make an epic in it's own right, is this true!!?
