MG MG Y Type - New size rear window
Dear all The Hood Team has decided on "new dimensions" after considering the following points: 1. The window is high enough to offer unobstructed view through the high mounted rear view mirror. 2. The width is such that the seams do not interfere with the Lift the Dot pegs at the very rear mounting of the hood. 3. The two zipper radii are big enough to allow ease of operation (they where copied of a Triumph Stag that uses the same type of zipped-in rear window). Cheers Anton Piller YT 4220 ![]() |

Hi all For comparison check the b/w original photograph, with a rear window that is far too small for todays traffic requirements. Please also note the two screws at the rear bow, above the window. Regards Anton ![]() |

Anton If the Y in the first post is your's, can you please start a new thread "High centre stop light" and post a photo of how you have attached it to the car. I would like to know how you attached it and how the hood fits over the attachment fitting. TIA Stuart |

My old YT that I had in the 70,s. Not original window but was adequate.. It was a snug fit and it folded down well. |

Good arramgement Anton especially the zipped window a la Triumph Stag. One extra that I had fitted when I had a replacement hood made in 2015/16 was a press stud on the rear side curtain to the hood this helps to keep the hoodn taut. I have taken a photo but not sure if it landed in my gallery as the phone died! The hood and s/screend do an excellent job in keeping the rain out! Cheers Jerry |

Hopefully,Anton below is photo of the stud connection between hood and s/screen on the YT. Cheers Jerry ![]() |

Jerry Not a bad idea, even though it probably is not original. Anton |
