MG MG Y Type - OT Peak District: what to visit early June

I'll be visiting the UK Peak District early June this year.
Do you know any car/technical related 'must-visits' in the neighbourhood?

Any advise is much appreciated.

Crich Tramway Village, near Matlock. If you are coming over in the Y then the driver gets free admission if you park your classic car inside. It is a collection of buildings taken brick by brick from other areas with working trams running all day. It is a beautiful part of the country to visit, hope you enjoy your visit,

Good call. As a child, growing up in Derby, I used to love Crich Tramway Village! Highly recommend that Willem - you will enjoy it. See http://www.tramway.co.uk/

Sometimes called, one of the seven wonders of The Peak District. Click on the link, you will find it very informative. Don't forget to visit Chatsworth House https://www.chatsworth.org/ if only to see it's magnificent gardens and water features, designed by the famous Capability Brown.
If you plan to stay a little longer and you are bringing the car, MG Live is held at Silverstone on June 17th & 18th. Silverstone is about a two hour drive covering just over a 100 miles. To find out more just look at the link. http://www.mgcc.co.uk/mglive/

The Tramways Village was the destination for the Spring Run a few years back. Lovely picture of Neil's YB

Hi Willem,

If you're in The Peak District around the very beginning of June I would recommend Tatton Park Classic Car Show. Not really part of The Peak District but only just outside, this event is worth a visit if you have the time. It takes place on 3rd and 4th of June and attracts around 2000 classic cars, a huge autojumble and lots of trade stands, plus there's lots to do for other family members who aren't interested in "oily stuff".
Just google Tatton Park.

We (and our 1949 YA) live in The Peak District near Macclesfield, and if you have any spare time perhaps we could get together somewhere. Please email me offline and we can see if we can work something out.

Best wishes,

Bill.

Thank for you useful recommendations.

Alas we won't be travelling in the Y but (dare I say it?) my wife's Toyota Corolla Verso....
No free admission for The Tramways Village in that car!

Tatton Park would have been perfect, but on 3 and 4 June we won't be in the neighbourhood yet. MG Live would have been nice too, but we are only staying for one week.

Bill, I'll email you offline tomorrow.
