MG MG Y Type - Piping
Where on a YB does the body piping go? Mine had no piping forward of the running boards. is this correct? Also what is the correct size? Ian |

Not sure what you mean Ian, the piping starts at the front bottom of the front wing and continues in an almost straight line to the end of the rear wings with two small breaks at each end of the running boards/ John YB0362 |

Your YB is not correct without piping. Each side has two pieces - a longer one that runs from the front valence along the entire length of the front wing, curves down and along the running board and then exits out between the running board and the outside edge of the rear wing. The second piece come up and over and out the rear of the car along the rear wing seam. NTG/www.MGBITS.COM can supply you with the correct lengths in a variety of color that can either match(correct) or complement (incorrect) your car's paint color. Best to talk to either Paul Banyard or Mike Green there on the phone - dont email ... they get swamped with emails. Paul |

What is the core size of the piping? Or what is the outside dimension of the piping. Thanks Butch |

Thank you John Butch |

Butch, Just noticed you mentioned core that is inside piping, plastic piping as fitted to the Y does not have or need a core normally only Leathercloth piping fitted in much older cars need it. John YB0362 |

Hello John. The piping that I took off the car had a core in it, otherwise it would have folded flat. Butch |

Thanks to you all. I didn't think mine was correct and wanted to sort it while I was doing this work. Regards Ian |
