MG MG Y Type - Pocket Bentley

A year ago, while reading copious quantities of old articles about the Y, the expression «Pocket Bentley» stuck into my mind.

A couple of months ago, as a jest, I sent a picture of my newly acquired Y to a knowledgeable friend (but who knows little about british cars) and I announced that I had just bought a 1941 Bentley. He was quite mystified and swallowed the story whole.

Then, lately, he expressed doubts that I had been pulling his leg all along.

That is when I fabricated the following proof that my initial claim was true: http://geocities.com/clubvacm/BentleY

Since then, he has remained silent...

You should stick that page up on the window of your Y type at an MG concours, then stand back and watch the fun! (It MUST be true if it is in print, yes?).
Matthew Magilton

Oh, that's rich! I love it!

[Such stuff are what dreams are made of]

There was produced in the 30s a Y type Ford costing £100, does this also qualify.

Monopolized with a zed? The FALL of 1940? In the RR enthusiasts bulletin? Who could possibly be taken in by this?
Now the Junior Jaguar of 1938; there's a real story for you. Love it Giles

Bizarre !
Whatever you're on, I want some.

Congratulations Gilles on a briliant piece of poetic license. I have printed it and will include in my vehicle history folder.
