MG MG Y Type - PRACTICAL CLASSICS RESTORATION SHOW MARCH 28-29
Dear All This is the second year of the Practical Classics Restoration Show which will be held over the weekend of 28/29th March at the NEC. The MG Octagon Car Club will be having a Club Stand, though we won't be selling spares. If you do need something from the Club then if you phone Pete before hand then he will arrange to bring it to the show for collection. There will hopefully be around 4-5 MG's on the stand and our main aim is to raise the profile of the Club and gain some new members. We were quite successful at the NAC MG and Triumph Day at the end of last month. I look forward to catching up with a few of you. All the best Jerry |

Great weekend and met up with several old and new Y owners. Some fantastic cars there of all marques. Well dome Practical Classics! Jerry |

Spent a wonderful day at the Classic Restoration show on Sunday. Some fabulous cars but no "Y"s unfortunately. Good demos, talks, interviews with Motörhead celebs etc. Displays well mapped out and not overcrowded so you could observe and chat with stand holders etc. Well done to organisers, NEC staff and car park Coach drivers for their courteous and helpful manner and service. Glad you enjoyed the show Bob! You obviously didn't visit the MG Octagon Car Club where my red YT was present in Hall 5! I would have enjoyed the chat! All the best Jerry |

Hi Jerry, How sorry I am to have overlooked your beautiful YT in my previous comment. The Octagon stand was the first I headed for when I arrived at the show and I saw the forerunner and big brother to my YA, the VA. I should have said I saw no YA or YBs. I am the very proud owner of Y6686 "JOY" which I have had since 18th Dec. 2012. I narrowmindedly thought only of 4door, 4seater saloons. I spent some time talking with a gent on the stand and in fact showed him a pic of my car on my iPad. Unfortunately I did not know you nor had opportunity to speak to you. However, I had noticed your car and attach a photo here to prove I was interested and did not overlook your sparkling machine. I think I have grovelled enough now and once again say how much I, and a classic car Virgin friend I had brought along, enjoyed the show. Kind regards, Bob ![]() |

Many apologies for missing you Bob. I did spend some while found round the show on both days. I am unsure which day you visited but Saturday was a very long day from 9 till 6 though the Sunday was busier but because of train times I didn't arrive until 11. The show finished earlier than we thought and I was able to drive the YT home and just miss the early evening rain. Really pleased to hear that you are enjoying your Y and look forward to seeing you at a few events this year. Glad you both had a good time and like you I too thought that it was excellent! Thanks also for your kind words about the YT. All the best Jerry |
