MG MG Y Type - Re-upholster interior
I need to have the interior completely re-upholstered including the seats and panels. If anyone can advise me of a trimmer who has undertaken the work to your satisfaction preferably south of Brum please let me know. |

Bryan I will be highly delighted to recommend the guy who redid my Y seats (front and rear). He is an ex-Connolly's man and has a small business operating from home now, but great work. He is in Southampton UK, cant get much further south than that on mainland UK. A bit of a trek but well worth the jouney to drop them off and collect. I can guarantee you wont be disappointed. Email me off line and I will dig up a phone number for you if you are interested. FYI you will need at least 3 hides though, so dont be too afraid of the price! The front seats, to do properly, require 2 hides alone. Paul |

Brian, My YA was done about 10 years ago, including the headlining, and gets good comments all round. Good news -it cost about 600 then Bad news - The firm is in Huddersfield. If you want details and photos of my upholstery, let me know Michael |

Michael, It will be a long time before I get to renewing upholstery, but details of the firm in Huddersfield would be appreciated. Tony |

Thanks for the recommendations but just now I'm a bit worried what with the present economic climate that firms could go bust, so I really need if possible someone who is close so that I can get to them quickly if there is trouble. Idealy a semi retired craftsman [or women] is best. |

Bryan I sent you 2 emails and pictures but it looks as if you have not read/received them. Would you email me. michael |

Bryan Although not close to you, Paul Farmer in Southampton who did my Y seats extremely nicely, is a former Connolley upholsterer and now operates his own business on a small scale only. He trades as Southern Upholstery. He fits your specifications quite well ... other than the distance issue possibly. If you need details let me know. Cheers Paul |
