MG MG Y Type - Remote servo
Hi can a remote servo be fitted to a yb and where to get a kit |

If your brakes are in good operating order with the YBs TLS system you should be ok without one. I would ensure your shoes are properly adjusted and that all your wheel cylinders all working properly, friction surfaces are dry and free from contamination, and that your drums are good first. Adding a servo wont help if the basic system is not good JR. Paul |

I agree with what Paul says, but if you wanted to buy one you could buy this one: http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-RH5272 No idea where and how to fit it, but if you find a place, yes it can be fitted. |

Hi Jr Dennis, I have fitted a remote servo to the braking system on my YA. I also live in Yorkshire in Snaith, we could meet up and you could look at my fitting. Although Paul is technically correct it certainly makes stopping the car easier as you don't need to apply as much pressure to the brake pedal. I consider it to be a worthwhile modification. I have attached a photo it fits quite neatly on the firewall behind and below the dash on the passenger side. Just buy an mgb servo you can get them off ebay or from moss. cheers chris ![]() |
