MG MG Y Type - Sill profile
My sills have been welded up years ago by a very poor panel shop. They are full of hole and the shape does not look right.A photo of a good one would help so I can cut out a correct looking sill. What gauge steel was the original car produced with. |

I had a read of Let there be Y,s The chassis is made of 14 gauge. In the parts CD it shows the cross section of the sill with a vertical seam that is missing on most of my YT. |

Hi Bob, I have two Y-Types here at the moment with no guards, floors or running boards fitted. Grab some thin cardboard from Officeworks and come and make some patterns/templates if you like of their sills. Cheers Tony The Classic Workshop Black Mountain |
