Hi Lee This might help identify which filter you need https://www.mg-cars.org.uk/imgytr/stores/taras.shtml Being a YA it should be the top one --but you never know what's been done Just compare the pics to yours willy Also I noticed your Y6777 isn't on the register--YA's on parade-- It's easy to register if you want to |

Lee,
There are a few different makers of these adaptors so you may have to experiment to get the right size. However if the adaptor is a light blue/grey colour like Ryco Filters then you are in luck because it is probably one made over here in the west. This adaptor gives you a choice of either a long Ryco Z62 (Ford Cortina) or short Ryco Z82 (Mini Moke). Many who do this conversion prefer the short filter because when fitted to the adaptor it looks like an original Ryco E21 which are now difficult to get and very expensive in comparison to a spin on type. Others prefer to have the longer/larger Z62 filter. Cheers Richard Prior YT3208 |

Thanks for your replys guys I think you may have solved my issue. the top section is defiantly s/s so i will start of with the fram ph 3632 and take it from there. no sure if they are available in australi but have found them on the popular auction site. i will put the car on ys on parade. thanks guys lee y6777 |

Hi Lee, It is important to know how your spin-on filter adaptor is constructed. Some spin-on filters have an anti-drainback valve, and if you try & push the oil the wrong way they will not work & you will have NO oil pressure. The last person I spoke to with this problem cured it by fitting a Ryco Z632 filter, but that may not suit your adaptor so you need to check. Cheers Tony The Classic Workshop |

Hi Toney, Thank you for your input. is the abovementioned valve on the actual filter or on the filter housing itself? i have orderd a z632 anyway to see if it fits. kind regards lee y6777 |

The one way valve is on the filter itself. Cheers Tony |
