MG MG Y Type - Spring Run 2006

Just a short note to say thanks to Jerry and Jo Birkbeck for all their hard work in preparation for this years Spring Run. The Run was, in my opinion, one of the best and it was good to meet so many old friends and make new ones. The company was excellent, the cars performed brilliantly and I can't wait for next year. (That's going to be a bit special so think about coming along next year and making the MAGIC 50 happen).

I concur with Jack's previous comments and too would like to pass my thanks. This was an excellent event, and nice to actually compete in a car of my own for a change, though all events that I have attended have been of huge enjoyment.
Just for note I did try to e mail Jerry using the web e mail via the contacts page, however it was rejected. If anybody has a e mail address for Jerry, I would like to send comments/thoughts for next years event of possible ideas etc.

Regards

I have only seen some of the photographs and had a couple of email, but the concensus is definitely as Jack said, "the best ever". I am sorry I wasnt able to be there. Watch this website though for the Spring Run 2007 - this will be the 60th anniversary of the Birth of the Y year so if you are in the UK, please make every effort to get your Y to the run - you can always get an earlier MOT if that has been a probelm in the past. Also 2007 will be the 10the consecutive year Jerry, Jo and his helpers have put on this spectacular season opener - please pull out all the stops to be there. I would if I could.

WELL DONE JERRY.

Very sorry not to have been able to make it, but congratulations to Jerry, Jo and crew: can I book now for 2007? It'll be ten years back on the road for my car, so that's worth it alone.

Paul, any chance of some pics of the Run on the site, always assuming you get some to post?

I fully agree. It had all the makings of a classic Spring Run... fantastic location, excellent weather, a fine turn out of vehicles and wonderful people! Let's hope we can finally get the magic 50 on next year's run. I'm sure there must be at least double that number of running cars within reach of Central England.

I'd be interested to know what people thought of the slightly later date for this event. I think it's better to hold it slightly later and wondered if we might repeat this next year.

Anyway, thanks again to Jerry for all his hard work and enthusiasm in organising such a great day.

The report has been loaded and can be accessed from either the May 2006 News page or the 2006 Events page.

Thank you to all the contributors and again to Jo and Jerry et al without whom there would be nothing to report on - well done guys & gals.
