MG MG Y Type - Statement from the MGCC Y Reg Committee
Pauls impending resignation from the MGCC in Februray is causing the Y register committee great concern and we are in the process of trying to reach a solution that will enable the continued success of our website services. Although many have contributed to the site undoubtedly Paul’s enthusiasm and unstinting dedication has been the major factor in its success. We are very much aware of this so please rest assured we have the very best interests of worldwide Y owners at heart. Peter Vielvoye MGCC Y Register Chairman |

Peter, Thanks for this statement, I do hope you're in a position to decide wisely and not let MGCC-politics gall OUR Y-website. Please remember that Car Clubs are meant to be FUN. Willem van der Veer Y5888 |

I agree with Willem. |

Thanks for the statement. I wish I thought that the MGCC committe will do what is best for the Y owners, so I will cross my fingers. As you can see I have put my views on the original thread. |

Time is rapidly running out - it is imperative that this website is not allowed to die at the hands of a committee that seem to have "lost the plot", and the importance of maintaining the best website on Y-Types that has ever been. If you want a glimpse into the future, perhaps we need only look at the MGCC Website and the dismal interest and participation on the Y-Forum there. Our now famous Y-Type website will only continue with Paul Barrow as webmaster. Any attempt to fold it into the MGCC website will fail. Time Gentlemen - time !. |

Gentleman What is the hold up ? One could have permits approved and new garage build by now. “Causing the Y register committee great concern” & “please rest assured we have the very best interests of worldwide Y owners at heart” In the best interest of the worldwide MG Y Type Group, what is happening to this website 1 Feb 2010? With no information available from the committee, we can only assume that their decision is to do nothing. OK Paul, it's over to you to take some positive action. Please post the new Y-Type website address here as soon as you can, so we can all update our "Favourites" list. |

Well, if nobody is going to comment, let me put an end to this thriller. You may have noticed that "our" Y-website is changed subtly; all the MGCC references are (sadly?) gone and the rest is virtually unchanged. For me this means the MGCC Y-register did decide wisely in having Paul Barrow continue under the same website address. I don't know if it was a hard decision but I thank all involved for this positive solution. |

Anyone know the re-launch date for the new MGCC Y Register website that's under development? The current site seems "lost for updates!" |

I think that, if you listen very carefully, you can hear some long grass being grown so that this "problem" can be kicked into it :-) In my simple view, there's no sensible way that mgytypes.org will have any competition from an official version, and I'm sure the club tacitly recognise that. The fact that Peter Vielvoye's original post is now nearly four years old suggests that those "Updates" are not exactly a hot priority.... |
Tim Griggs |
Tim, Quiet right, so where is the need to have another site as is proposed? Looking back nearly four years your correct to reflect on how much the imgytr have achieved, correct figures on YT production etc, etc, and the talk of the official version is still where it was inventing new site! why? |
