MG MG Y Type - SU MG Y and YT Carb data sheet on eBay

Two rareish items I saw today on eBay (but have copies of already and very useful they are too) are SU exploded parts list and pictures for the MG YA (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8013018131&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AUK%3A1) and for the YT (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8013017832&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AUK%3A1).

The seller is well known to me and entirely reputable!! (Not me!! :-))

You disappoint me, Paul; I always thought you were entirely reputable and now you're saying your not? LOL

Is it just me or is US $ 11,- a bit steep for an opening offer? It deters me from bidding, but collegues call me Scrooge sometimes, I wonder why?

I'm not too interested in original documents but the detailed view and parts list looks useful so I've asked the seller if he can provide copies.

Are these drawings better, lesser and/or equal to the blow-ups in either the service parts list, or the workshop manual?

The usefulness of these lists is that yes the pictures are bigger, but you also will have the exact SU part numbers for all the components. This is very useful for ordering replacement parts from Burlen Fuels. You dont have to say 'I need a thingy' you can use the proper name and say 'AUC 123'.

I wouldnt have thought that $11 is high, it is about £4.50 or 5 Euros. They are certainly rare enough I feel to justify the price and make for interesting 'Collectibles' if you never use them in rebuilding the carburettors. Not everyone's cup of tea so I wouldnt have thought there would be too much competition for them though so you will probably get them cheaply.

Best answer to the question though is if you go to the website and go to the Collectibles Page, under Manuals you will see the YA/B carburettor and the YT Carburettors booklets. Click on the thumbnail and it will open a larger picture.
