MG MG Y Type - sunroof front drain tube
Hi Guys, Does anyone have a picture of the sunroof front drain pipe as it exits the car. I presume it exits below the front wing in the sill area, but the body I'm restoring does not have any exit holes as the sill areas have been replaced some time in the past. Cheers Chris |

Hi Chris If you remove the side board on the interior of the car you SHOULD find the tube comes down the outside of the curve of the door then exits through the bottom of the car. When replacing make sure you have at least 2 - 3 inches of tube showing so that water will not climb back up the tube either outside or inside. I used a poly tube available from most hardware stores. If you have a problem getting some let me know. Also, once in place seal the exit hole too. Paul |

Hi Paul, As you can see from the attached photo, I don't need to remove interior board. It would be nice to have a photo of an original exit point so I can drill the body in the correct position on both sides before I go any further with the restoration. Regards chris ![]() |
