MG MG Y Type - Torque Values
Is anyone aware if there are prescribed torque values for the exhaust manifold studs/nuts and the tapper inspector cover studs/nuts? |

20 ft/lb for the manifold clamp nuts I don't think there's a spec for the sidecover hardware, just tight but not too tight as it'll squash the gasket out of shape |

Thanks William |

Ed Check out the website :) - plenty of data on there. In particular see https://www.mg-cars.org.uk/imgytr/techdata.shtml#Size_Matters Paul |

As for the side covers - I can highly recommend John James metal side cover gaskets - bought one for each of my Y, Y/T and YB! https://www.mg-cars.org.uk/imgytr/vendors.shtml#Stores |

Thanks Paul, I will check out the information on torque of bolts and nuts. Regarding gaskets, I am giving the ones from Tom Lange of MGT Repair a try. Ed |
