Last year I measured my YT firewall, then made and fitted the under dash trim panels. However, currently I am not at home, so I can not access by measurements until later in the week.

Firstly, is the steering column/wheel insitu? If so, you need to change the patterns shown in LTBYs etc to fit around it and the support bracket. No measurements are shown in LTBYs.

I measured my firewall, then made cardboard templates, then after adjusting these I cut and bent some coreflut to fit, before buying and cutting the final trim mill board.

The original Trim was only one main piece with 3 small peices (one either side of battery box and the other around / inside steering support bracket). I made mine with 2 main pieces plus the smaller peices, as my steering column was in place. I have added insulation under the trim to deaden sound and reduce head transfer.

Check/search the archives for posts on "Under Dash".

all the best

Lucas, I have my original under-dash panel, pretty complete, off the car at the moment - happy to attempt some measurements/photos if no-one else already has them for you. Yours, John.

John
That would be great if you could do that

Thanks
Lucas

Lucas - my apologies - been away since last week, back today and with daylight tomorrow, will take a few photos and try to remember how to add arrows, measurements etc ... or, will attach a written summary if all else fails! Sorry for the delay - I know what it's like when you have a project on the brain!
Yours, John.

Hey John
No problem any info/pics you could give me will be a big help
Thank you

Lucas, I'm suffering from inadequate computer skills - I took 5 shots from different angles, but when I try to "upload" to this thread, the computer announces that the item is too large. So I think I'll have to re-take the photos tomorrow and send each one individually. No problem, just more delay - sorry mate. John.

OK - here's a plan view, to show the general layout for left-hand battery configuration. When I figure out the procedure, I'll send you some measurements!

J P Hall

Underside view - not much help except to prove that there was a felt lining; much damage in the battery box area.

J P Hall

Side-on view to show a bit more of the construction.

J P Hall

Close-up to show the use of rivets.

J P Hall

Side-on, again showing where a chunk is missing due to p/o battery box damage.

J P Hall

Thanks John
Great pictures

Poor photos Lucas, but it's a start. When I figure out how to add arrows etc., I'll post measurements! Yours, John.
