MG MG Y Type - Unkown Bracket
In one of my parts boxes, I found this bracket. It has MOWOG on one side and BTB 396RH 10A on the other. My guess would be a right hand headlamp bracket for early (prewar maybe) MG. Any ideas? Marvin ![]() |

Hi Marvin It is indeed a headlamp bracket ... but not from a Y. It looks to me like TC/TD but I am not 100% on that. Paul |

Marvin I have been thinking about the bracket again, and rather than it being a headlamp bracket I am thinking it could actually be a steering arm bracket with having that bolt through the middle so I apologize for the wrong information earlier. What it is from, is anyone's guess. Paul |

It looks to me like it is a RH steering arm for an MG Midget/Austin Healey Sprite. If I could find my parts book I could confirm excatly which model, but it's certainly not from a Y-Type. I have a 1969 Australian Built Midget - that's why it is familiar to me. The two mounting holes should be straight, while the hole at the end will be tapered for the tie rod end. |

Hi Marvin, The part number indicates it is an MGB right hand steering arm. Regards, Brian. |
