MG MG Y Type - Wiper positioning poll

And now for some holiday-trivia (and I don't dare to ask for your age): looking at the Y's on parade I notice that there are several ways to "rest" the Y-wipers;
- both laying outwards (like I have them)
- both laying to the right
- both laying to the left
- both laying inwards (Y6594 does that and I think I'm going to try that, too)

Above ways are on the scuttle, I also saw wipers on the glass itself in most combinations, which puzzles me because on my car the wipers start in that position when I put on the ignition (but my wipers work....).

- So how do you wear your wipers?
- What is the official way to please a nittpicking concourse judge?
- Is there difference between LHD and RHD?

I'm layin' to the left. (RHD car)

Willem, from my pictures of the Y-type stand at the Ripon Old Cars show this year I can see that three cars parked the wipers to the left, and five outwards.

I'm told that there is a successful treatment for obsessives like you.

Hi Willem

I have often thought about doing silly polls like this on the site but have yet to find some suitable code that doesn't contain a bunch of unnecessary garbage, but in the interim my YA wears its wipers outward. My YTs however will wear them canted over to the right as they are both RHD.

On YTs as they hang from the top of the screen rail should be canted to the side of the driver - left for LHD and right for RHD.

Before you ask for your next survey ... I do not have medallions on my hubcaps!!

Michael is right on the money there - seek help, or you may become as big an obsessive as me! Oh, hang on though, you collect stamps dont you - forget it you are way ahead of me!!! LOL!

Great idea, great fun I hope you get all the replies (and abuse :-) ) you deserve!!

Cheers

Hi Paul,
You want silly polls? How about:
- the position in degrees of the windowwinders (times four);
- the time at which your clock stood still;
- recommended sunroof opening without losing your hairpiece;
- steeringwheel position (one pair of spokes upwards or downwards);
- exact width of your shoes for avoiding multiple-pedal-application;
- ground clearance of Jackall stands in upward position.

The possibilities are endless! I'm afraid however few people will understand the importance of these surveys; it's a sad world we live in..... LOL

Michael,
if the treatment has anything to do with collecting stamps we both know that it doesn't work!!

Willem

I have had an email from your wife. You are GROUNDED until you get some of the house projects done - so until such time as the "Honey-do" list is at least a little appeased everyone will have to wait for the highly important translations you are/were working on, and also for your highly important surveys.

That having said you have given some excellent ideas there - stamp collecting (unless they have Ys on them) apart!!

Come on everyone - dont just READ the Bulletin Board threads - join the mad crowd here!

Paul, I just read the mail from SWMBO; I'm devastated.....
