MG MG Y Type - Y front seat question

Hi new to this side of the site as I'm on the T series forum. I own a TD/c that my father special ordered new in 1951. TD/c-8151 came with bucket seats. The red upholstery is pleated in the same patter as a TD. I'm trying to identify the seats and it has been suggested that they were pulled from the Y assembly line but I don't know for sure as I've never seen a Y seat close at hand. But the inspection marks match other original upholstery panels in the car i.e. Initials in blue chalk markings so I'm fairly confident they are original to this car.

My question is
Does any one have detailed pics to share of the seat construction such as when they may have been taken apart to be reupholstered. Any pics would be helpful. I've also been told that the hinging for the seat backs tend to fail and would like to know what kind of reienforement fix people may have come up with to protect the integrity.

Sorry my pic files are to large and won't load on this forum and I don't know how to fix it.

Thanks in Advance

Email me your pictures. The BBS has a size limit on picture uploads so I am guessing you are exceeding that. I will resize them, and mail them back to you and you can then post them.

Bill , I just happen to have acquired this deconstructered YA seat yesterday and this may help you . Y disitinctively have a cigarette ash tray in the back of the seat and are non hinged at the back.
Hope this helps.

Slight problem also , format size too big

Email me and I will return photos

Still not received your photos Bill.

Paul I've been away. I'll try to send them

CR I think these may be out of a touring and not a saloon as the hinges would give access to the rear seat. But I'm not familiar with either.
