MG MG Y Type - Y type sway bar

Any help would be appreciated. Looking for original front sway bar so as not to modify A frames. Also right side rear door glass. For 53 YB.

Good luck with that Robert. There were only 1,301 YBs made and although a very few of the late YAs had anti-roll bars instead of Panhard Rods.

I think you'd be ahead getting some dimensions and pictures from a YB owner and getting one made up from appropriately hardened steel brother. I do not have a YB so I cannot help you but hopefully someone else can.

Paul, good tip. I've been asking around a bit over 20 years now so I'm familiar on the unavailability of the antisway. Not ready to give up yet but if someone has specifications maybe I could get one made.

Sorry for calling you Robert earlier :)!

Hope you hear from someone soon. I acquired an anti-sway bar in a pile of bits I got a while back - I have no idea where it came from but I would not b e surprised if a TD/TF one would fit. You might want to look at TD/TFs in your local club and see if they measure up?

That might open up a source for you - scrap a TD/TF?? LOL

TD/TFs didn't have Sway bars. Owners fit the smaller diameter (3/4") bar used on the MGA/MGB and sold by MG part suppliers.

here is my solution for the anti roll bar. I used an MBG bar, shortened the vertical links and made the connection to the wishbone from flat steel which I bolted inside the spring pan -- see the photos.

Have you got sorted on your anti-sway bar? If not https://www.ebay.co.uk/123685141049? may work for you?

I see the seller "may not sell to the United States" but worth asking and if the answer is still NO then let me know - we may be able to effect a work around with it being shipped to a UK address first through the IMGYTR network!
