Mike If you scroll down the news page at www.mgytypes.org on the left hand side of the page you will find a link to The MG Y Type tool kit by Jeremy Havard, and also another to Terry Ciantar's Original Tool kit. If you cannot ever find anything, it probably is on the site somewhere so we have provided a search tool on the main menu. Paul |

Thanks Larry and Paul. I have found the details as suggested. I thought that I had seen something about the toolkit on the website earlier, but I could not find it again. I did not know about the search engine - the link is not in the usual place (at the top!). I have found an Aladdin's cave selling old tools locally - run from a garden shed by a steam engine enthusiast. I hope to find some original, or at least similar, tools to make up a set for my Y. The Search tool is on the main menu, 8th one down. If you put in "Toolkit" it probably wont yield any results, so sometimes you have to play with your selection and just try "Tool" as on the pages in question I only used the words "Tool kit". A scary thought!! The website now has nearly 1.17GB in 14,153 files covering 127 folders and over 400 pages so it is quite a big site really. Most things are covered and can be found so the Search Engine is an integral part of the site now. The site has come a long way from the 5 simple pages it was when I started it not expecting that it would literally take over my life in the way that it has! Amazingly I do keep finding new things and other owners also contribute new elements too! Regards Paul |

Mike, there is a very rare and desirable Shelley 3/4 hammer on UK Ebay right now, item #330349131808. No bids yet, and a cheap opening price. I have seen these sell in the US$75-85 range. Larry |

After a long time looking, I just bought a brass Dunlop valve tool on eBay. It's not exactly the same as the one in Terry Ciantar's Original Tool kit but it fills the last gap in my kit. Please be very careful buying so-called genuine MG tool kits and tools. I've seen an lot of 'MG Toolkit - rare and hard to find, essential for your classic car' stuff for sale at silly prices that were obviously nothing but the sweepings off garage floors at house clearances. It's very easy to stamp 'Shelley' on an old pair of pliers and simple to cut down and age any old ball pien hammer, so do a bit of research and be careful, Peter |
