MG MG Y Type - Y type's demise in the fifties

I seem to have stumbled upon the reason so many Ys disappeared in the late forties and early fifties in the UK. The reason is explained in this obscure documentary which was made contemporaneously to the Y's appearance on the market. Please view:

Harry Enfield is a current commedian in the UK. I think this should be taken with a huge amount of tongue in cheek ... least anyone take it too seriously! Good job they didnt use aY for the film.
