MG MG Y Type - YB for sale on ebay - good home needed

Let's hope someone will take this on as a project - it has great potential. Anyone breaking it fot spares will be reported to the mafia.....

It's a nice car, I'm only selling as I have four others and haven't got ability to move it the 250 miles north I'd need to..

Other pictures available on request and I'd never do the spares thing...

Just so you know. When I first got it I registered it here and until then it was an unknown, having been stored for 18+ years. It's listed in YB on Parade, YB1012.

I just want to see it go to a good home and not stuck in a garage.

Seems to have vanished??? Can't think why?
Can Mr Gisby throw some light on this? It had a few days to go last time I looked. Pity I didn't post the link.
D MULLEN

Hi all,
The link you want is;
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=130318190572The listing has closed, so I presume the car has been sold "off ebay".
Keith D Herkes

The car is to be restored and so is no longer available for sale.

Excellent news PF.

Please have the new owner contact me if he needs any informational help and I will seek to point him in the best direction. My email is webmast @ mgytypes.org. There is a plethora of information on www.mgytypes.org but it can be overwhelming at first.

From looking at the photos on the eBay listing, it would seem that most of the body rot is concentrated in the Spare Wheel Compartment floor and rear panel - which is replacable with a panel that is readily available. The next worse areas are clearly the typical effects on sees when the rear (as opposed to the front) rubber drain tubes from the sun roof collapse and get bunged up. My guess is that the front ones are probably gone too. That is the bad news. The good news is ... it can all be done.

Will it prove to be a good economic investment to do all of the work that is required? NO.

Will the new owner when it is done have great fun in his car on which no premium can be placed? YOU CAN BET THE FARM ON IT!

Will www.mgytypes.org help him achieve this? ABSOLUTELY!

Regards

Paul
