MG MG Y Type - Yorkshire Moors Tour 09

A possible Summer Tour in 2009 is being evaluated by Y Register Committee members. Likely to take place in August, over a long weekend (Friday - Monday incl) it will feature scenic runs and visits to the North Yorks steam railway; Eden Camp (a 'living' museum of WWII); Dalby Forest and the Ryedale Folk Museum.

At this stage (Arlene & I are doing some early planning/visits over the holidays) any general expressions of interest would be welcome. We are currently thinking around 10 - 12 cars may join the Tour, but any number up to the magical 50 will be welcome!

One exclusive event being planned is to undertake a re-run of the 'Blue Train' challenge featuring Y Types v. steam train from Pickering, through the Moors to Goathland (or maybe even Whitby!!)

Further information will follow via Events/BB, but now seems a good time for all of us to think of a fully working car; long summer days; Yorkshire hospitality and some of the best scenery in the country.

(My alternative plan was deemed a little ambitious; let's just say it would now be wishing you all Buon Natale rather than Merry Christmas!)

Hello Andrew & Arlene.
Count us in on this one.
Have a look at the Hackness Grange Hotel part of English Rose Hotel group at http://www.englishrosehotels.co.uk/
A very good location for that part of the world. I should think you may get a good rate for 10 or 12 rooms dinner bed & breakfast.
All the best to you both for Christmas

When in August were you planning on the trip?

Richard - like Andrew says ... planning at this stage so I doubt he has a date fixed. When he does we will be posting on the website. At this stage as he says "(Arlene & I are doing some early planning/visits over the holidays) any general expressions of interest would be welcome. We are currently thinking around 10 - 12 cars may join the Tour, but any number up to the magical 50 will be welcome" so I guess he can take it from your post you are "interested"?

Happy Christmas

Andrew,

I'm gutted, typically the dates are right bang in middle of my shifts at work! So won't make the journey north!

Can you send me an email though as I have a question off thread which I'd like to ask

Thank you

Richard

The August Tour of the North York Moors has a maximum number of 17 rooms/cars - due to hotel/party restrictions.

We already have paid deposits from 12, 2 are 'in the post' and 1 is on hold while choosing hill climbing in France or truly enjoying himself in much better comany with the Yorkshire Tour!

If you are thinking of treating yourselves to a few days in August with the Moors Tour then please contact us (see Events Page) a.s.a.p.

Further details and Booking/Preference Form are available via the email contacts.

yours in a deluge of cheques
