MG MG Y Type - Yt door hinge

Does anyone know where I can get a set of hinges or if they used the same ones on any other model

I cannot give you seller for these but would recommend contact to the company in Australia, they may be able to help, and have far more YT's to get patterns etc.

The YT Door Hinges are unique to the YT - they are similar but bigger than MG TD as the doors are way bigger. I do not believe anyone will make a small batch up as they would be incredibly slow movers and a pattern would have to be made from each of the four hinges concerned as they are also handed. The only ones you will find are currently on cars.

Which YT do you have as I cannot trace you in the Registry Database?

Rob,

Would it be beneficial to have an engineers drawing of the hinges to put up on the IMGYTR? As you have the part stripped, easy to measure and draw it may be benefical for someone one day in the future i.e if hinge were to break and down the line someone needed to remanufactor a replacement, I would dread cost but you may never know. Disregard if this is already done somewhere.

They would have to be completely taken apart (depinned) and each part critically measured on all dimensions for a drawing to be accurate Richard. Curvature, angle and duration of curve etc. all have to be captured very carefully. If a professional engineer's drawing was obtained I would be happy to host it but it is a bit more complicated than say a routine 'flat' piece to draw.
