Well well, another questionable e-bay auction. No bids and then the full ask from a one-day old '0' prior bidder. Shame, the car did look very nice. Will probably be re-listed shortly with a failed bidder. Happy Holiday to all Safety Fast Paul YB, TDs |

Hi Paul You might be right. Every one has to start somewhere though - at least the bid was two hours before the close which indicates some impartiality probably. You never know, the buyer might get in touch and want to post that lovely Y on Ys on Parade and join us. We should be open arms and open minded. As to the sell price, if he got the car at the opening bid, uncontested then lucky him. BTW there was also a Saloon on at the same sort of time that we haven't previously got either at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4533537857 which go 0 bids - shame too as it was nice. And then of course there was that fantastic remains / garden feature which also received 0 at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4533870826. EBay seems to throw up some amazing stuff certainly. Paul |

Paul Of course the new owner would be welcome to the MG fold. The car really looked nice and at the price, was an 'I wish it was over here'. The green saloon seemed very reasonable, but once again, the shipping is often a deterrent. The yard sale car, what a shame, but it might have helped some other crippled warrior get up and running. Paul, any ideas of what the shipping costs would be from Australia to Connecticut (or the Northeast in general)? |
Mark Weissman |
Havent a clue - I moved my cars and house with Atlas - I think they are nationwide but any large co. should be able to quote you and also there are specialists that may advertise in Car magazines too. Good luck. |
Paul Barrow |
Ha! I actually meant Paul Gaynor, seeing as he lives just a few towns over from me. Thanks for your input, though. Any news on that YA you knew of that was getting broken up back in the UK? |
Mark Weissman |
Mark: Can't help with actual numbers. For us on East Coast we have the double whammy of from AU - US and then West to East Coast. Which one caught your eye? Paul |

Curious what it would cost to bring that YT from South Australia to the Northeast. I had mine shipped from Seattle (Paul Barrow's neck of the woods) last October, and it cost $1,800. |
Mark Weissman |
You would probably be looking at $5k at a guess - purely a guess. |
