MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Autocar Road Test this week of ZT260

Just thought I'd mention it...

"ZT260 more fun to drive than a BMW330"
Rob Bell

faint praise! A City Rover is probably more fun than a BMW....
Patrick

Okay, so's a Yugo, but you can imagine that someone in BMW (UK) is going to see that and choke on their cornflakes. ;o)
Rob Bell

Ha HA HAAAAA

No comparison in my mind!!

What's a BMW ?

I've had 2 BMW's and I cant say that I was that impressed with either of their Ultimate Driving Machine reputations.

Both were slow and heavy...in Fact an old Fiat panda is probably just as much fun to drive
Neil

Yes Neil, well worth a quick read ....

Couple of itmes made me smile:

>>MG's philosophy runs along the line of 'Life's too short not to' and the ZT 260 V8 is here to ram the message home. And from where I am sitting, it's doing a pretty effective job. <<

and

>>Producing the car's underpinnings and sending it all down the same factory line as regular ZTs has been no small feat on MG Rover's part. Has it been worth all the hard work? 'Course it has. <<

...the closing line is worthy of mention:

>>The grumpy old men are right. Things ain't what they used to be - but at least MG isn't just talking about it. <<

Hmmmmm .....'Sounds' like my kind of motor ... literally .....;-)

Bought one - a pre facelift as they were soo cheap. Using it as a tow car for the V6 engined MG of the eighties!
Jerry

Well done m8, that's one car sold!
Eric

Jerry?
Just bought one...cheap?
You mean the V8 I take it?

OK How much?
Neil

The price comparison between the ZT 260 amd a pre-thrashed M5 is a bit thin. I expect that there'll be deals on used ZTs in a few months.
