Is this crash damaged? front/rear/side?
No further info on website as far as I can see George. Would be nice to see a summary of parts avaiable and some idea of costs!

Cheers
Kelvin

well if you goto the web site theres a contact number to call.

Genuine enquiries welcome,not sarcy comments..Eric!

So you see it as reasonable to make a post to the BBS pointing to a Web site were you can get a telephone number to ring.

Perhaps as trip down to WH Smith to purchase a copy of the Idiots Guide to the Internet might be worthwhile!
Patrick Beet

Yes I do see it as reasonable...whats the point in listing every part on here?Takes up space.

Peeople that own these cars arent idiots and neither am I.

If you are not interested in buying any bits, then keep ya sarcy comments to yourself,as im sure people dont want to read crap! They come to forums to gain knowledge and info, not useless malicious rubbish.

George, if its Blue and the front end is intact, then I might be interested in the lower bib spoiler!

Was not having a dig or causing trouble asking for clarification on parts, but original post does lead one to think that you have listed what may be available.

Some comments may be sarky, but the take comments lightly and act upon them, for the most part you will find that in the end it will be to your advantage.

Some people may find your website not from the hint about the ZS Parts. Now those people are potential customers and have no idea you have a ZS to break. So it makes sense to include it somewhere on the website?

For example something that reads like this:
Just in, ZS180, in Trophy Blue for breaking, accident damages to rear, lots of parts, too many to list. Please phone us with your requirements.

Hmmm, not a bad website, but the two areas i was particularly interested in have nothing at all.

I own an MGF and was interested in what you had to offer for the 1.8 K-Series. The website says that there are projects in progress and whilst this may very well be true, i am still none the wiser as to what they may be.

The other item that i thought may be useful is the ZS 180 salvage alluded to in the title of this thread. Here is the direct link to the salvage page:

As you can see it is as vague as the K-Series tuning page. I agree that there is very likely to be far too many parts to list, but if it wasn't for this thread, i would have no idea that you even had a ZS 180 to break, let alone whether you had any parts that i might want.

Basically it comes down to this. If this is an enthusiasts site then it is adequate for the purposes. However, it reads like a business venture and therefore needs to be treated like a 'shop window'. Emailing for details is OK, as are contact telephone numbers, but if people don't know what you are selling, why should they ring?

I don't know much about web design, but i do know a lot about shop windows, working for an arcitectural practice that specialises in retail. Remember, like all shop windows, 'the first bite is with the eye' and i feel that your site isn't realising it's potential.

Others comments may have been a bit sarky, but they do have a foundation in fact. If you want people to buy your wares, you need to tell them what you are selling and this means display of products.

Surely every reason for sarcy comments when you see what started them.

Second post was a request for information - no answer. Only responses from the supposed vendor is sarcy comments. Selling is pretty damned simple. Good idea to tell people what you are attempting to flog and then be nice and helpful to potential clients. Score so far nil out of 2.

Ted - You're pulling my leg!
Eric

Actually Im not the poster Mr sarcy i dont mind using my proper name like I have been doing.

As for Mr scarlet fever,I think the web sites an insight and as explained,it isnt always easy to keep it updated with every bit of news.I spend my time working and developing parts for the new breed of Rovers?mg's and I do not maintain the site myself, thats done by NKRF services,as indicated on the website.

Like I said,a phone call is all it takes. If you cant be bothered, then thats your business.I have mine.

Bye for now

Nice to see a Mr Sarcy using his noddle

George in the time you have spent giving a negative response, to what was a fairly simple question, you could have answered that simple question or even updated the website in the way I and Scaret have described.

>George, if its Blue and the front end is intact, then I might be interested in the lower bib spoiler!

I have emailed you re the above question.

Sorry about that but by a pure co-incidence I was looking for a FAG ZR/ZS/ZZ bearing and by asking Google to find this for me it eventually led me back to these pages - the wonderful 'thinking'of computers.

BTW I found the bearing at a midlands company site.

Computers and the internet, esp Google never fail to amaze me!

Still, that's a cheap ZR you have 'netted' there!!
Eric

You go to fill up with Petrol at your local BP/Shell/Texaco whatever. The pumps have little signs on them saying we have too many types of fuel to display here, telephone this number to find out if this pump dispenses the fuel you want.

How about something a little less extreme, if you are after a (for example) carton of eggs, you go to Tesco/Sainsbury/Asda whatever. What if you went to one of these stores and found the egg department and found a note saying, please ring this number for details?

Buisiness web sites ARE shop windows. How you display your wares is entirely up to you and if it works then who am i to judge. I just feel you are missing an opportunity that's all. Mike Satur is an example of how it could be done, he has an agreement with a web designer and all he does is provide the odd photograph and some details about each product and the designer updates his site for him. I don't know the ins and outs of his arrangement with the designer, but the sales Mike gets from his website are a significant contribution to his business, not least of all from international clients.

Have a look and see what you think, it has a very simple structure, looks good and provides just enough information on each item. >> http://www.mikesatur.co.uk <<

In your case it is a lot easier, a photo (or two) of the ZS which will give an indication of what parts have survived would be enough, people would then know whether you are likely to be able to help and would call as necessary.

-------------

In lieu of any more details from you, i am after a tow bar for my ZS 180. Does the car you are breaking have one and if so which one is it (is the ball detachable), how much would you like for it?

SF
Scarlet Fever

I agree. People are lazy and if selling one should make finding out as easy as possible. People often cannot be bothered to make enquiries, but put it on a plate for them and it helps you, the seller. i.e type the phone number it only takes a few seconds. Also, if you are selling don't be narkey in response as people will ignore you, but act on the info as Kelvin suggested.
Ian

Selling on the internet (be it a simple list or a full-blown e-shop) is so simple, cheap and effective....
The Key to Sales!

If Mr Murkie(?) had any balls he would pay for a full blown advert and support this web site too. If not then he should refrain from placing unwanted, un-informative postings here.... please :-)
