MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - ciao

2 ZS180's within a year, not bad. Also had around 10 different alamo cars so may quit the office to work for car mag ! 1st zs the engine woz kaputzski, 2nd was a flood write off :(

took delivery of civic R on monday so can reflect with a partially misty eye, sniff.

the zs was a superb car. handling & engine superb. loved the seats. the thing i hated, ney despised was the interior. when driving it was a performance car, trophy blue is the best car colour in the known universe so even when parked it was awesome.but sitting in traffic looking at the dash it was a rover 45. the sound system was fiddly and also complete pants. the little coin drawer thingy was made of wafer thin plastic and often fell out if you were fortunate enough to have more than £1.50 to your name. a shame really. i'm sure with time this will all change. the other gripe was with the cubby holes and trays etc - there wasn't any. 'welcome to the cheap seats....'

anyway best of luck to you all, i look forward to kicking your full fat ar*es !!!!!

be happy.

Strange that, considering it was based on a Rover 45...

> the sound system was fiddly and also complete pants.

MG Rover don't make in-car hi-fi though. I think it was a good choice to use aftermarket in-car stereo, just a shame that the kenwoods chosen were made for people with small fingers. I replaced mine and don't have this problem any more.

>the little coin drawer thingy was made of wafer thin plastic and often fell out if you were fortunate enough to have more than £1.50 to your name. a shame really. i'm sure with time this will all change.

Probably not, there is no point doing an interior makeover with a 45 replacement on the horizon, it was more of a "make the most of what you've got" exercise, and I'm glad they made it into a good handling car with a average interior than the other way around. Can't say it bothers me too much, I prefer the roar of the V6 with the handling to the screem of a 4 pot to choose a different competing make of car.

>the other gripe was with the cubby holes and trays etc - there wasn't any.

Your car didn't come with the cubby hole on the driver's side in the lower dash, the one in the doorcards, the one between the seats, the centre console, the ashtray and the cubby hole below the ashtray? Not forgetting the glovebox, how much storage do you were you after? Still you have a car that looks a bit like a van now, so I'm sure you'll be fine ;)

Just remember to rev the pants off it as you fly by..
