MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Colour Matches
Does anyone know the Pantone®/RGB/CYMK values for Trophy Blue and the green from the XPower logo? I've found a company who will produce custom-designed sunstrips and I want things to look right on my Trophy Blue ZR. Cheers. F P.S. I did try customer services but gave up after 20 minutes wait! |

Yeah, like the guy who picks up the phone is ever going to know "the Pantone®/RGB/CYMK values for Trophy Blue and the green from the XPower logo". They can't even pick up the phone usually! You have tremendous faith in MG-R staff! ;-) |

David...I wasn't expecting them to know what the codes were. But I would have expected them to at least know a department who might. As it was, when I did finally get through, I couldn't even get the ignorant woman to understand what I was doing. She was convinced I was designing a rival car with the same colour on my PC! Is it asking too much to be able to speak to someone even with just half a brain? F |

Findlay -- By hook or by crook, color codes may be found... I did a screen cap from the X-Power site (www.mg-xpower.com), pulled it up in Photoshop, and eyedropped the colors. Granted, these will be approximate. Green: Pantone 375CVU C 43% M 0% Y 79% K 0% R 0 G 229 B 0 Can't help you on the Trophy Blue, but at least this is a start. G |

My fame goes before me! Even without divulging my full forename, Gryfon knows it! Do you work for the FBI! Anyway, cheers mate for that info. I had thought of doing something similar to get Trophy Blue. I was gonna use a pic of my car but then I realised the sun shining on it, the shadows from buildings, trees, etc, reflections from the road would make a mess of things. I had thought it wouldn't be a prob trying to get a match. WRONG. Anyhow, one down and one to go. Thanks again mate. Very helpful. Findlay (as you know already!) |

Findley, here's a mad Idea. Why dont you take a small sample piece of trim (or similar) to B&Q paint department, and ask them to colour match it. They use an electronic 'colourisor'(their terminology)to mix paint. They might just be able to tell you the values. It's a long shot but worth a try. Or failing that how about original paint manufacturers: PPG Dupont BASF Best of look. ProMGR |

Thanks for all the help people. I've got the Pantone number for the green XPower. What I'm gonna do is take my car down to a local printers/designers/etc. They'll have a swatch of Pantone colours for when they're doing their artwork. Simply take it out to car and match up. Failing that, the B&Q idea is a good one. Cheers. |
