MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Delivery delays
| For those people awaiting Z cars, how is the delivery situation? I ordered the 5 door ZS 180, and was expecting to be driving it today...alas after nearly a two month wait for the quoted delivery date, mine has been put back a week (and that isn't definite). I'm dissapointed as you can image, although I can handle a week delay...is anyone else suffering delays? |

| There are delays. My son has one on order, supposed to pick it up today but as yet no date been given. Reason for delay, a trim item company went bust and so MG Rover had to source another manufacturer. Well thats what I was told. 19 year old son is driving me mad now!!!!! |

| Hi guys, my company is awaiting delivery on 2 ZS 180's, and the reason for the delay is that a supplier to MG-R has gone bust...I think it's true. Cheers Kieren |

| With initials like JFK,our Oxford reader can obviously afford the insurance premiums on such a powerful machine for a 19 year old; however I would be rather worried about the young man's safety -even without the sad historical record of that same family !! |

| Apparently the delay is due to the plastic guards in the wheel arches. New ones have now been sourced and were going through QA last week. Cheers Kieren |

| Ordered mine(ZS120) at the beginning of the month. Was told that it has been delivered and will be ready after PDI on Saturday. |

| Ordered our ZR 120 at the start of the month. Original delivery date 23rd Sept but car due to come through build today. Told of clerical error causing wrong trim parts to be delivered to track at Longbridge - some Z cars arrived at dealer with Rover wood trim! All sorted now. Delay now due to shortage of black leather. Need to phone dealer tomorrow for latest situation. Pete |

| Could Brett & anyone else acquiring a ZS 120 please let us have their impressions (particularly relative to the Rover 45), as there seems to be no Road Test yet avalable on this car. |

| Has anyone any information about the supply problems with the Z's I phoned MG order control on tues to be told that for legal reasions no information can be given!! Customer Services were a little less abrasive but still told me nothing. Have the parts started to turn up at the factory yet?? |

| I don't know of any delays. I am picking up my ZS120+ tomorrow. It was delivered to Redditch last week and has been undergoing PDI. |

| After much talk today (fri) it seems that the zs180 is in bromsgrove and if the insurance co. can get their fax working. I should get the car tomorow. I am looking foward to it. |

| well i phoned order control on 28/09 to ask why my zr160 is not ready when i had a delivery date of 30/09 and was told the mgz's were all going through rigerous checks in quality control, and order control wouldn't chase things up untill they were a week overdue? |

| Perhaps they are going through these quality checks because of the problems highlighted elswhere on these bulletin boards?? Let's hope so. |

| I'm still waiting for my ZS180 5dr, but the dealer restored some of my faith by lending me their ZS180. Since it has been about 2 months since my first test drive, the reason why I ordered one in the first place was starting to become a distant memory. Now I've had a chance to drive one again, I have to say it's worth the wait (as long as I get to keep the dealer's 180 until I get mine!). |

| No delivery delays on ZS120. Picked it up when I was supposed to. Had a number of extras fitted as well. |

| Just to let you guys know that the reason given for the delay (by my dealer) on ZS180 5 door is a shortage side sills and the small spoiler option. The car is currently 10 days overdue with no delivery date yet quoted. I can only guess that the sills would affect the saloon models as well, but there seems to be conflicting information as to the reasons for delays. In the meantime my dealer is keeping me happy by lending me a ZS, which seems to me a superb way to sell these cars. Lend a prospective buyer one for a few days and then see if they want to go back to their previous car! |

| well my zr160 is now a week late, but should be here at the beginning of next week (fingers crossed), the mg's now seem to be moving as i've seen some being delivered to showrooms on transporters. Lets hope after all the quality inspections they will be perfect! |

| Hi I rang my dealer today to be told may have my ZT190 + by weekend!!! Is this likely? P.S I have been off the MG scene since 1995 when I got a condition prize at surrey 95 for my MG maestro from Roche(MGOC) Sorry I started my own company! By The way avoid George He is well dodgy!!! He needs to have a longer stay in Norwich I think. |

| well, at last things are moving - i've found out today that my zr160 has been sent to the carrington compound and it will be at my dealers on wednesday, so with luck i can pick it up on thursday, i hope after 2 weeks delay due to quality checks things will be perfect!!!!!! |

| well its now wednesday and richard lawsons transporters havent delivered my zr to the dealers as promised, so it doesn't look as though i'll be getting it tommorow as planned. i've now decided if i don't have it by friday evening im gonna cancel as im fed up being messed about, so anyone else want it |

| well i finally got it yesterday (the car), went for a spin today and am really impresed. it rattles a bit but that can be sorted, it handles as though its on rails with the suspension being not too harsh, well glad i waited after all |

| My ZS180 came through this weekend as well, I'm trying to go easy with the accelerator until I've covered a few miles, but it's proving difficult. Everything is fine but for a slight whistle with the hot air blower at a certain fan setting and that is only minor. A full size spare _really doesn't_ fit in the boot. It looks like it has the potential to, but still. The real reason I bought this car, for it's handling, doesn't disappoint. |

| I have ordered a ZR 120 and am taking delivery on Monday - 5 days early!! I've just driven round to the dealer and can see it awaiting prepartion - can't wait!! |
