MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - drivers door lock failure

has anybody had trouble with the drivers door lock on the zr ( the key barrel) we are now onto our 4th one in 6 months . the key wont go into the lock, also the key has been change. i have heard of some rover 25 with the same prob. car was bought in april /may 03 . garage as usual has never heard of this before

you should have bought a car with CDL cheepskate!!!

i did

1 is an mgf ( mike satur tuned )

another is a laguna ( rentunning tuned )

oh yes ive got a rover 400 as well ( radio scotland tuned)

and not forgetting 3 renault vans (drivers say they should be tuned
)
my wife wanted the 1.8 steptronic and there were no cdl avaiable.

how many have you got with cdl , colin ?

if this is all you can raise as feedback to help me , maybe as a friend of mine says ....if you aint got nothin good to say ..say nothing.

now has anyone got any real info

Had something similar happen to our (2001) ZR. My wife opened the car without any problem but the key then wouldn't come out.
She had to drive around to the dealers with the keys in the door, using the spare in the ingition. Sorted by the dealers very quickly and gave no further problems for the rest of our 2 year ownership.

this is what happened the first time ( the key got stuck in ) then the other locks the key would not go in

It's a very common problem, 'bout time they had it licked.

Been going on for 3 yrs now!
