MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Feeble Noise
Does anyone else feel the way I do about the horn (hooter) on the ZT? A premium car with a single tone horn that sounds like a cow with a sinus problem?! I have purchased a Stebel twin tone horn which should do the trick, but first I need to know where the horn is on the ZT so that I don't wind up removing half of the bodywork before I find it. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to get to the horn? Thanks, Mark. |

Hi there yeah my ZT had a joke horn on it! I gave the dealer SUCH a load of grief for it I sent to MGR mp3's of Ivor the Engine's horn try below http://www.smallfilms.co.uk/ivor/ I received a set of superb FIAMM airhorns from my son as a Xmas Present. I then located where the horn was....right buried in the front bumper...JEEZ!!! SO then got the dealer to fit my airhorns..free of charge! Now it sounds like a 60's Italian sportscar!! |

...and exactly the same problem with my new ZS (and also the TF's now), but haven't yet got round to sorting it. It's a real 'Noddy' horn, in all senses of the word! Mike H |

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who doesn't like the horn. I have now located the little beasty in the traditional way, i.e by trial and error and banging my head on the bonnet when my wife blows it unexpectedly! My horn is located just below the windscreen on the passenger side, near the wiper mechanicals. I have to remove the wipers so that I can take off the panel to get at the horn. Without doing that I cant even judge if there is enough space to fit the new twin horns. Maybe I should also twist my dealer's arm to fit them! |
