MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Footwell mats for ZS?

Anyone know of a source of some decent floor mats for the ZS? The in-laws have just collected a jolly nice Mk2 ZS120 and are looking for something suitable.

Cheers!
Rob Bell

Many aftermarket mats don't fit too well due to the boot/filler cap release, although some of the better ones have a series of pre-maked cut-outs to fit this.
When I had a ZS I had a pair of genuine MGR rubber mats in the front. Fitted perfectly.
JLD

I have a set genuine MG carpet mats for the ZS, these are now also available in 'X-Power'colours and logos!

B&G sell mats for the ZS. I believe that these are the standard MGR ones. The MGR fabric carpets in my F had worn through on the driver's side within 100k. I've now completed 70k in the ZS and these seem to be wearing through as well.

Alternatively (and you did include the word 'decent' in your original question), you could get some made up to spec. How about Wilton carpets in a shade to match the car? Have a look in one of the classic car mags and you'll find several upholsterers adverts for this service.

Thanks guys. Might be interested in those mats that you've got Kelvin - will check to see whether sister in law wants them still (she's fitted aftermarket mats that, as you say JLD, don't fit at all well!!!)

Drove the car this morning. Very very nice. New interior much improved too. Only done 200 miles so far, so still plenty of running in to do, but already the engine seems usefully potent! :o)

Rob I think the in-laws should have negotiated a set of mats into the deal, maybe the dealer can do something for them in retrospect?
Kelvin

Somehow I doubt it Kelvin. They managed to negotiate a pretty good deal without resorting to the Privelege purchase scheme - and Phoenix Muswell Hill aren't renowned for their generousity! ;o)

Any pictures of the offical MG-Rover Mats for the ZS

thanks
Martin McFeely

They are grey (almost a match for the grey carpet) with a fabric MG badge sewn in.
The badge is only fully visible with seats pushed right back. Mine are starting to look tatty and will be looking to repalce them soon, with either the same, or the X-power version.
Kelvin

"Our" ZS has now got a set of jolly practical rubber mats, embossed with MG logos with what look suspiciously like Rover badges in the 'background'.

X-Power do carpets Kelvin?
Rob Bell

Not carpets Rob, X-power do footwell mats.

My carpet is fine, its the mats that are tatty, even with a regular vacumn clean and carpet cleaner stuff!

Meant the mats Kelvin - excuse the confusion ;o) What do the X-Power items look like? I can imagine XPG with brilliant green piping and an X-Power logo...
Rob Bell

more of a black with green piping Rob.

there is a picture here (need to scroll down)

Hmm, smart! :o)

I got official MG mats from Marshalls. only cost me £50. They have those screw pegs aswell that screw into the carpet and stop the drivers mat from doing a few laps around the car everytime you drive.

The back mats fit nice too they have "wing" type things that wedge against the runners of the front seats to stop the mats from hiding under the seats.
