MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Great news of outstanding new sports saloon!

..........From BMW!

THe new BMW M2 will be here in less than 2 years. A small car about the size of a Golf, sexy coupe body shell, sem-auto gear box. Front engine, rear drive with 50/50 weight balance.

The Engine is going to be a stormer, camless that's no cams the valves will be opened and close electrioncly. Mag-alloy engine block to keep it lean. Less than a 1000kgs all in.

At last a sucesser to the left hand drive late 80's model..........way to go BMW!!!
Mega.

Still can't equate auto with sports.

Also any idea of price - if it's BMW it's probably what it's worth + £10k.

so David from that comment i don’t think you think much of the latest FWD M.G.’s? or the old Maestro/Montego range?

Never driven the original M3 then David - or the Impreza Turbo and any of the Lancer Evo's? They are sports cars without a doubt. Outstanding performance and handling .... better than most more traditional sports cars dare I say.

"The Engine is going to be a stormer"

....aren't these the Hamms Hall units? I wonder if they'll have 'Made in England' stamped on them anywhere. Nah, stupid idea. Silly me.
Howard

this sports saloon thing - can be a bit of a hornet's nest - but only a matter of semantics. Personally I don't like the tag, 'sports' to me has connotations of 2 seats, or soft top, or both ! That's not to say I don't like the cars mentioned - most will be bored by now of me extolling the virtues of the Monty Turbo, and I admire the Impreza and the Evo, especially the WRC-winning versions. And look forward to owning a Z. If I have to give them a name I think I prefer 'high performance saloon'.
David

"way to go BMW!!!"

Wish you'd go away, Mega.
