MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Having Kittens
This was taken rom Autosport... Andy!!!! -------------------------------------------------------- Pop goes touring car racing Atomic Kitten link up with MG to create all-new team Girl band Atomic Kitten and MG Sport and Racing have joined forces to create a new team to compete in this year's British Touring Car Championship with a pair of MG ZSs. Gareth Howell and Gary Turkington will drive the year-old cars in the series, which kicks off at Oulton Park on April 21. The cars will run under the banner of Team Atomic Kitten and will sport a distinctive yellow and black livery. "We are really proud to be associated with MG," said Atomic Kitten's Jenny Frost, who had two UK number one singles in 2001. "They are a very dynamic company who are going places. When the opportunity arose to work alongside MG on the BTCC programme we jumped at it." The cars will runs independently of the works MG team, which is aiming for the title this year after winning two races in its debut season. "We wanted to find a way to run four cars this year," said Rob Oldaker, managing director of MG Sport and Racing. "The most obvious way was by finding an independent team to lease the cars from last year. The fact that we have managed to bring in Atomic Kitten as part of this deal is magnificent for both MG and for the TOCA Tour itself." |

Oh my God. I hope this is an elaborate hoax. What image do Atomic Kitten give a car? Dull. Slow. Bit empty in the bonnet department etc. |

Dreadful music, but they'll hopefully inspire a lost generation of under 21s to visit MGR showrooms. Kids who've never HEARD of MGR, who've been indoctrinated by the media to think Polos, Saxos, Clios, Peugeots et al are cool, and their granny -who has zero street cred- is the only person they've ever met that drives a Rover... |

Howard WROTE: Some concise stuff about youngsters and their current influences and tastes in cars ... An accurate assessment methinks and EXACTLY why MG-R have made it so .... :) Youngster next door just passed his driving test and guess what he has just bought? A ten year old Vauxhall Nova .... Hey man, Rovers are so uncool ...... WRONGGGGGGG!! |

The Kitten have already have sunk money into a racing team, so they are no strangers to m/sport, and listening to them at the presentation yesterday they came over very well!! For me the important thing is that there are now four MGs in the championship. The 3 higest placed cars of of the 4 can score points for the manufactures cup. 2 works cars and a privateer team can score, this puts MG in a position to challenge the Vauxhalls! Kelvin |

Is this completely separate (apart from the Atomic Kitten bit) from Atomic Kitten Racing that is driving Corvettes in the GT class at Le Mans and Sebring? |
