MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - How much for first ZR TD service
Nearly choked on my dealers price for first service on my TD ZR. £204.30. <<<<ouch>>>> how does this compare with others? Got until next Thurs to find a better price Cheers Andy |

They've got you by the b*llo*ks I'm afraid......that's a crazy price! |

seems an aweful lot for a first service, IIRC my ZS180 was about 170 inc. upgrading to Mobil 1 oil. |

Service costs do vary a lot from dealer to dealer, there is no fixed price! On the ZS180 I got a first service for £150 after being quoted over £200. Second service will be dearer (more to do?) I have been quoted £180, and thats me supplying the Mobil 1, other wise costs using 'their oil' would be £204.50 When I looked at service cost last year, up and down the country, they ranged from £130-£230 Kelvin |

A diesel should cost less, there aren't any spark plugs to change! Seriously as per Kelvin and Mikeyboy, I have paid much less for both the 15k and 30k service. Shop around. |
Martin |
also recognise that with hugely longer service intervals there is more to be done at each one - no more interim oil and filter changes. |

Thanks for the replies. I'm now booked in at a different dealer tomorrow for £170. Thanks due to Victoria at the MGF Centre for calling her contacts to arrange a better deal! Just got to call Stour Valley Rover tomorrow to give them the good news that their service is cancelled! Andy |
