Has anyone seen or got a picture of a ZS 5dr?? All I have seen are 4drs
Rob

I know how you feel, I have to wait until the 23rd of September for my 5dr ZS 180, which I haven't even seen a picture of yet in the publicity. The closest you can get is the schematic in the MG brochure or take a look at a Rover 45 5 door.

They didn't even have one at Cardiff ...

Hmm, I've seen a photo of one, I'll have a look around....

Steve, the 5-door 45 basic shell is identical to the Honda Civic - remember my black tow-car at Bruntingthorpe ? Only 170 horses from the 1.8 Honda VTEC but still good fun....

Well, I phoned my dealer earlier today, only to be told that my Anthracite ZS180 has already arrived. Somehow waiting is harder knowing that it's only a couple miles down the road whispering 'Drive me, drive me...'.

The good news is that a change in my plans allows me to pick it up on the 1st rather than the 3rd, so at least there are only 18 days to go. Maybe I'll pop down there one lunchtime and take a quick peek. I'm still not sure how it'll look in Anthracite - I'm dying to know if I made the right decision...

When I last bought a new MG, I asked the dealer if I could photograph it straight off the transporter. They agreed so with all the bits of paper, labels, protective coatings and that kind of stuff still on it and before any number/reg plates were fitted, I took a few shots. If you plan to keep the car for a few years, it helps to start an interesting dossier for the enthusiast.....

A little later, my car was delivered on trade plates a couple of weeks before 1st January, the official date of first registration. Thus I could look at it on my drive each day but NOT drive it. A few seconds after midnight on December 31st, I started it and the family, including my father, went for a long night drive. Later that year my old Dad died and he still had a part exposed film in his Minolta camera. Did not have the heart to get that film developed then but did so some TWELVE years later! Prints came out reasonably well with just a little colour cast thereon but a bonus was that my Dad had taken several shots of the then new MG and these came out well.... funny old game cars... :o))

Hi Steve

Mine's in anthracite too!!! When did you order yours? I called my dealer today only to be told he didn't know the delivery date yet, the car hasn't arrived yet but it should arrive early next week "maybe" :-<

I ordered mine around 3 weeks ago.....

> Mine's in anthracite too!!! When did you order yours?

I ordered it at the beginning of last week but they had one going through the factory with the space saver spare, though without the rear head restraints that I also wanted, that was available for the 19th August rather than having to wait 'til the middle of September. Actually, I went and had a look at it after work yesterday and it was sitting on Pirelli rather than Michelin tyres, so it may have been built a few weeks ago.

Incidentally, it looks really good in the Anthracite, if not as immediately striking as the Trophy Blue. I'm certainly please with the choice that I made. Apparently, when they unloaded it outside the front of the dealership, they had a number of people comment on how good it looked and how it was interesting to see one in a colour other than the blue!

Cheers,

Steve. (15 days and counting...)

I wish I only had to wait 15 days. I'm envious.

Seriously, I do sympathize (a little) with the frustration of having to wait. I think John McF's story about having the car but not being able to drive it due to registration dates would drive me absolutely crazy.

If I ever get a chance to by a new MG here, at least we won't have that problem. If you buy a new car here, you can drive it home from the dealer on "temporary tags", which are legal for sixty days, to allow time to get your proper tags.
