MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - K series 160 HP turbo
Has anyone tried out this engine please? |

Seems incredible. One of the two recent engine innovations by MGR and no one on the site has even tried them-never mind actually buying the product! |

Went to check out the feasability of slotting unit into metro see modded metromontegomaestro section. All the staff that have driven it ay it ismuch better than the unit it replaced 150bhp ispaltry but 210nm at 2100 is close on 2.5 kv6 levels |

Could one slot it into a ZS in place of the unblown 120 HP version?? |

Not sure Antoine, but i reckon there is a very good chance considering they get the KV6 in the same space (which is a MUCH bigger engine, being a 90 degree V). SF |

Apparently They will use this engine to replace the vvc wherever possible (this probably excludes the mgf) |

Had the ZS been available with a K4 turbo then I'd not only want one, I'd get one! The only reason I can think of that MG-R have NOT already done the K4 Turbo ZS is that the KV6 is already available (thus not splitting ZS sales between K4-T v KV6 impacting on increased tooling/production costs). ZS180 has ample poke and the R45/MGZS replacement (R60?) is not that far away ... is it? So, that too may play a part in their decision not to put a turbo in the ZS. Still a shame though ... IMHO. It'd be nice in the ZR, though: a riposte to the Cooper S. |
