MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - MG X80 is DEAD!

Story in this months "EVO" MGR have killed the X80. They have decided to Concentrate on the facelifts/ replacements for the ZR/ZS.

So its off to the great race track in the sky, to dice with the Lotus M250!

They should have time for the seats now!

Yes but what you forget to mention is that the same story states there are plans for a one make race series using the X80 a la the TVR Tuscans.
The Outsider

Do you think honestly think MGR has invested money buying Qvale - just to dump the Mangusta derived X80?
The Insider

They brought a DOG! not even Peter S can't make it look good. Better to kill it now, yes use the bones as best you can. Ugly and point less. I can only think it was a bad joke. Thank God its gone!!!!

'Thank God its gone' says MM (erroneously) of the X80. Some would say if only they could say the same of something else so painfully familiar to frequenters of this bbs ...

You know its a DOG, so does everybody! Do you honesty think a guy with Boxster Cash would buy that! I hear in Longbridge they named it after a woman.....Miss Take!

>>>> so does everybody!
===no we don't actually - so you are WRONG again.
David

Just got the latest MGR brochure, and they mention the X80 will be appearing next year. I doubt very much that they have killed it off!!
John G Hackett

Someone posted something about Pistonheads.com on the Xpower Forum. One make series mentioned!
Rock & A Hardplace

“The supercar is based on the Mangusta produced by Qvale, the US-Italian luxury sports carmaker that MG Rover bought last year. The model will almost certainly lead MG Rover's re-entry into North America.”

Ken Howe Interview – Times 3rd May 2002

Mega, didn't Ken Howe inform you of his plans? And we all thought you two were so close and chummy.

Cheers

Mike

Mega,
why not inviting Ken Howe, Mr. Reitzle and your Honda-dealer to your next candlelight supper? It might be a huge boost to your social reputation. Be assured, your skills as a most important expert in very complicated british car business matters would be acknowledged by these gentlemen. Forget the MG-Taliban. They just want to vulgarise you.

Yours sincerely
