MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - MGZR MP3 Player

I take delivery of my new MGZR at the end of this month. One thing I forgot to ask the garage was how to get the MP3s from my computer into the car. I read on another thread that you need to keep the titles below 32 characters but am unsure whether I first need to burn them to CD first ?.

Hi Paul
I don't know how much PC knowledge you have but I hope this will help.
You need to have a CD writer with your PC, and with this there will be some software, usually Adaptec or Nero.
Sometimes when a blank CD is put into the CD writer the PC will automatically call up the correct programme to transfer data and sometimes you have to call it up yourself. There are many ways of transferring MP3 files to the CD. I use Adaptec Direct to format and open the CD. Once this is done I simply open explorer and click and drag files from the hard drive onto the CD drive. Once completed I press eject which causes another box to appear on screen. On this box I click to say close off the CD and make it readable to normal CD players running windows.
Having done the above the CD works in the car. It is also possible re-open the CD to add more files later - so long as there is space on the CD. So you could try just two or three first and then add more later. I normally get 150 - 190 tracks on one CD. It is possible to get every Beatles album onto one CD this way - but creating the mp3 files in the first place is a pain.
Hope this helps.
Chris

One last thing - the option to burn a CD (on software such as Real Player) usually converts the mp3 files and creates a CD that can be played on any player and is thus limited to 20 or so tracks.
