MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - MGZS180 Alarm

Hi all

Does anyone know how the standard fit alarm on a 51 registered zs180 is meant to work.. Mine has ultrasonic sensors but whatever I do I cant get it to go off if I set the alarm and then move aroung inside the car.. It does work if I open the bonnet or door.

Is it faulty or are the sensors just for show

Paul are you sure your car is fitted with these (they are an optional extra IIRC

certainly standard now - as mine went off when I lft the sunroof open last weekend....

Yep The sensors are on the top of the door pillar on the Drivers side.

Mines Y plate and had Volumetric and Perimetric as standard

They do work if you move around. I accidently locked my ZS180 when I was paying for petrol with my girlfriend in the car. The alarm was set off as she leant across the car to look out of the drivers side of the windscreen!
