MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Problem with Sapre Tire on ZR 160

Yesterday I decided to rotate the tires on my ZR 160 for even ware on the grip. I may have found a problem with the space saver tire that i got as the spare.

Firstly i took the front left alloy off and attempted to replace this with the space saver alloy. When i put the alloy on, the inside of the rim would scratch the edge of the brake calliper when turned. When i put the bolts on the alloy would fix tightly onto the calliper and would not turn.

I rang my dealer and was advised that I visit them for a closer look.

They told me that i have the correct size spare that is supplied with the car when the IMS system is not issued. The parts manager also tried a different spare wheel and the same happened.

I was advised that he would be looking into this with importance. I received a phone call from him to advise that a technician will be visiting the dealer ship to discuss the problem later next week. He thought that the upgraded brakes on the ZR 160 may have been overseen when designing the spare alloy.

This may effect the entire range, check your spare!!!!!

TYRE, not TIRE. Repeat your question with corrections.

TIRE is what happens when you pull your pud too much.
Jonesy

Sorry my English is that not good.

I will take it from your responce that you do not have an answer to my question!

Maybe you had better stick to pulling your pud.

Richard

The space saver is designed to go on the rear. If you have a flat at the front you'll have to swap the spare for a rear tyre and then put the rear on the front, seems crazy??
Don't forget if you're rotating tyres you can only swap back to front on same side as the tyres are directional!!!

You have to fit the rear wheel on the front and put the spare on the back if you have a front wheel puncture

Your dealer obviously hasn't a clue! F**kwits, the lot of them!

Jonesy - go back to pulling your pud please [obviously you are an expert on the aforementioned act] and give up being the 'spelling tzar' you silly little tw*t

Richard asked a perfectly good question, he didn't want nor merit a tw*tish reply as yours. That's what drives people away from here.

Many Thanks,

I will let you know what the dealer has to say.
Richard

No problem mate

Just wanted to help u out rather than drag u through the mud as all seem to do here.

Ok f*ckstick. You might think it fitting that the language is being dumbed down with all the americanisms and phonetic (sort of) spellings they seem so fond of. It's just laziness and stupidity that has begat all this 'color', 'tire', 'thru' bollocks.

If you're in England, you should use English spelling.
Jonesy

Ah, that traditional English word, f*ckstick!
A Pedant

oh what a nice man you are...

You should check your spelling first, before hitting the submit button.

Yeah, go back and look.

Now who's the f*ckstick?

We could send you to Coventry....oh I see you're already there.......nuff said.
