Well here are the pics from the rolling road complete with printout, hosted by mg-rover.org.
Big thanks to steve for posting the pics.

Rob, the quoted power- is that at the wheels or an estimated flywheel power output?

If @ wheels, a peak of 151 bhp is pretty impressive. If one uses the rule of thumb that transmission losses account for about 10 bhp, then you car's engine is pushing out approx 160 bhp- exactly what the maker intended. Mated with that extremely impressive torque curve (Table Mountain is peakier than that!) then this Police mode is doing more than just sacrificing power for torque!

Are we looking at an officially sanctioned ignition timing tweak? Is this a conversion that should only be used where the highest quality fuels are available?

Rob!
Nice one matey!
I love your ZR, it looks brill!
I can't belive how flat the torque is, its like a V8.
Well done again, come on MGR fix those seats!
Mega wants in!
Mega.

Didnt know that Well Lane Turbo centre had a rolling road. Mite have come down with my MG ZS 120+ for a look. Wonder if the Police mode applies to this vehicle too. Might ring Clemo tomra
Rob

Rob, i was told the figure is quoted as being at the flywheel. The mod is done at official Rover dealers with the backing of MGR.
I've tried using super unleaded (50p a litre more) to see if it made any difference - it didn't so i'll be sticking to regular.
Mega, thanks for the compliment - r u interested in one now :-), yep the curve is as flat as my girlfriend :-))

Rob the pictures look excellent. Hopefully I will get my 160 set-up in police mode soon.

Rob - from what i can understand the police mode is available for all current MG models so will be ok for you.
Nigel - don't hesitate it does make a difference lower down the rev range,(20mph, 3rd gear traffic moving off) doesn't try to die as much

Tell you what Rob your going to be the Tost of the BB for this! You know IF MGR sort the SEats for ME and add xerions..........Well may be just may be

Mega it's seats and Xenon, the x of which is pronounced with as a 'z'.

ProMGR

and it's "you're" and "toast". As for punctuation, don't even go there....

Is it me or are there far too many Robs on this thread? LOL

Rob, I'd be surprised if the quoted figure is the flywheel measure. If this is done, there is usually a statement as to how the flywheel figure is derived; there isn't here. Moreover there are often two curves- the power and torque @ wheels and the estimated power and torque @ flywheel. This looks like a single curve of power @ wheels- and if this is the case, I'm impressed!

There is an alternative way to measure transmission losses (not fool proof, but that's another argument). At some RR establishments, transmission losses are estimated by performing a negative power run- ie get the rollers up to speed, drop the gearbox into neutral, and let the transmission slow the rollers down. Is this what was done here?
Rob Bell

all i can remember is the car was run on the rollers once for a minute or so, idled for a min then given 2 or 3 power runs holding in each gear to redline for a few secs then backed off
